Zorras have been tickling Edinburgh audiences between their legs and ears since January of 2008, with their quirky performances and their queer and trans cabaret, Cachín Cachán Cachunga! The creators of the event The Skinny calls "Edinburgh's most consistently radical cabaret experience" are bringing a workshop and performance night south to Dumfries.

The workshop is geared towards writers and solo musicians who are interested in exploring gender diversity and increasing trans visibility through collaboration, live performance and/or multimedia work. Participants can be trans themselves or trans allies.

The aim of the workshop is to break down fears about reading and performing, give participants tools for successful stage appearances, and to discuss some of the “dos and don’ts” of collaboration and mixed-media projects.

The performance event will give participants the opportunity to try their first reading or debut something new at the mic, as well as featuring some exciting established LGBT writers and performers from around Scotland and the UK.

To sign up for the workshop, you can register online at www.stadumfries.eventbrite.co.uk or email lynne@equality-network.org or phone Lynne at the Equality Network office on 0131 467 6039.

Reasonable travel & childcare costs will be covered with advance notice.

Sponsored by Scottish Transgender Alliance.

The Oasis Youth Centre is fully accessible.
